Customer photo review of Emma 4.0 Dual Battery Long Range Fat Tire Ebike

I’ve had the Emma 4.0 for a little while now and I’m really happy with it. It feels like a bike I can actually use for all kinds of things instead of just taking it out occasionally. Even my family has started asking to take it for a ride.

Customer photo review of Emma 4.0

As a Leon owner, I had high expectations going into the Emma 4.0, and it did not disappoint. It has that same classic Roll-Road vibe I love, but with its own smooth, comfortable ride feel. It’s comfortable for long rides and the perfect sunset cruiser all summer long. Absolute blast to ride and turns heads everywhere I go.

Emma 4.0

Customer photo review of Emma 4.0

I was hesitant to buy an ebike online, but the specs for the price were too good to ignore. I'm so glad I took the chance! This EMMA4.0 bike is built like a tank. The frame is solid, the brakes feel premium, and the knobby tires grip like crazy on loose dirt. Assembly was straightforward with the included tools. I got a bike that performs amazingly well on my local Arizona trails. An incredible value!

Emma 4.0

This is my two-year review (almost), of the previous model, the Emma 3.0, and my experience with Roll Road. I am also a customer who has ridden and worked on bicycles for almost twenty years before switching to electric to help with my food delivery side gig. Leading with the bottom line: When it comes to communication, Roll Road is top notch and professional and the Emma 3.0 is a workhorse. Also, my experience with replacement parts was both the best and worst experience with this ebike. First, I'll address communication, then the replacement parts. Roll Road's communication and customer service is stellar. They respond same-day to questions and concerns, sometimes within the hour. 10 months ago, I was struck by a vehicle while riding on the sidewalk, and lost the front battery in the accident. Roll Road responded to my questions about the warranty, were transparent about the six-week shipping time, and kept me updated. A few months after, I wound up replacing the rear battery, too. It lost some of its charge from being unused and still plugged into the bike at 100% charge for the six weeks I was waiting for the first one (I researched and discovered that there is proper procedure for storing ebike batteries and that wasn't it). Also, Roll Road listened to my concerns about the obscure, poorly reviewed shipping carrier they used for the first battery. Without me asking, they shipped the second battery via FedEx so I could feel more assured and I appreciated that. Leading back to the bottom line on communication and customer service, there are few companies I can compare to Roll Road's promptness and professionalism. Moving on, when it comes to my best and worst experience with the company, they involve the same set of replacement parts: the motor and the controller. They failed a year and a half into me riding the bike. My best experience was replacing and installing new ones with Roll Road's excellent support and instructions. My worst experience was the lack of compromise when the new parts showed early signs of the same issue less than two months after installing them. When the parts failed the first time, the bike's display showed a code 09 error and was non-responsive to the throttle. I noticed a significant amount of burning/melting around the male and female motor cable connectors (the red ones that link the motor to the controller). I contacted Roll Road who explained that the bike was out of warranty (when I purchased it back in 2025, the warranty was only one year). They walked me through trying to clean the connections which was unsuccessful and then advised me to purchase a new motor and controller. They even offered a $50 discount. Unlike the batteries, the parts arrived in about a week. While installing the new motor, I had a question and Roll Road responded with a custom video (not on their YouTube channel nor anywhere else) that answered my question. I revved up the motor and it worked! I was so relieved because I use the bike as my trusted vehicle. I ride to work and back, on trips to the store and it's how I work my side-gig delivering food for Uber Eats. Then, on my first ride after replacing the parts, I did notice the pedal assist dropping by itself, a sign of overheating. We were in the dog days of summer in Florida and I was riding in the middle of the day, the hottest time. Roll Road verified that while high heat could cause the motor power to diminish, it could also be the display buttons sticking. I chose to ride the bike for a few weeks, avoid riding during the hottest time of day, and observe. Other than during that first ride, the issue did not recur and the bike ran like new. I even did some delivery shifts with no issues at all. That was in late August 2026. Then, in mid-October 2026 (the time of this review), I was doing deliveries when the bike's pedal assist began dropping by itself . . . again. I pulled over, unplugged the motor cable to inspect it and was gutted to see that the cable connections showed early, minor signs of burning and melting. Although the damage was no where near the original parts, I contacted Roll Road and they responded that the new damage was due to riding for "prolonged distances under high loads." I stared at that sentence for a while. The irony is that Roll Road advertises the bike as being able to sustain a 450lb payload with a range of 150 miles. I am a 150lb rider and, on my rear rack, I carry a delivery bag that weighs up to 15lbs with tools and my bike chain. 99% of the time, I ride the bike between 20 and 23 mph because I am cautious after my accident. On a delivery night (two nights a week), I'll ride a distance of 30 to 35 miles, occasionally over a bridge/hill. In other words, my riding habits are well below what should be the capabilities of the bike. I wrote to Roll Road suggesting that replacing the parts would be a fair way of dealing with the situation. In my letter, I asked how the performance of these specific parts reflect the expectations they advertise on their website. In their response, I read that they could not verify my riding habits (fair enough, they can't watch me everyday to do so), assured me that the parts were factory tested, and expressed certainty that the damage was due to "prolonged distances" and "high loads." They also stated I shouldn't have "to worry too much." And, for the first time, I felt unheard. I know they meant well by asking me not to worry and it still left me concerned. Aside from food delivery, I'm a retail manager and I would hate for the bike to malfunction while I am heading to work and the only person with keys to the building (leaving my employees and customers stranded on the sidewalk). Afterwards, I started doing research. One thing that stuck out to me was that the new controller was twice the size of the old one and, therefore, it is tightly packed into the sealed bottom bracket compartment (the space between the crank arm/pedals). Also, I learned the controller uses a passive cooling system (no fans, just the metal housing of the controller to absorb heat from the components). The thing is this: heat needs somewhere to go. Trapped within a sealed compartment, there is no ventilation. The fact that the controller is larger and more cramped is also causing the wiring to act like insulation and the sealed compartment to act as an oven. Right now, I am exploring ways to avoid overheating in the future and haven't used the bike for delivery since. All of this to lead back to the beginning. I admire Roll Road's communication and guidance and would have preferred them to be more compromising when it came to this issue. As someone who commutes on a bike, I would advise anyone interested in purchasing this product to learn as much as they can about bike mechanics and maintenance. We are never too old (or too young) to learn. Also, this is just my experience and the choice is yours. Thanks for reading and have an awesome day!

Emma 4.0 Dual Battery Long Range Fat Tire Moped Style Ebike

I didn't expect an e-bike to change my routine this much. I started using the Emma for short trips I'd normally drive, and honestly I just find myself grabbing it more and more — even for stuff I could easily walk to.

Emma 4.0 Dual Battery Long Range Fat Tire Ebike

I wasn’t sure how much I would actually use an e-bike, but the Emma 4.0 surprised me. It’s become part of my daily routine, and riding it is honestly one of the best parts of my day.

Emma 4.0 Dual Battery Long Range Fat Tire Ebike

I’ve been riding the Emma 4.0 for a while now and it has become my go-to bike for almost everything. It feels solid, comfortable, and easy to ride.

Emma 4.0 Dual Battery Long Range Fat Tire Ebike

I was a little hesitant about ordering an e-bike online, but the Emma 4.0 exceeded my expectations. Assembly was straightforward, and the bike felt great from the very first ride. It feels much more premium than I expected for the price.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

After putting a few hundred miles on the Emma 4.0, I can say it's held up really well. The bike feels solid, the battery has met my needs, and everything works as expected. No regrets so far.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The bike feels well-built and reliable. I like that it doesn’t feel complicated at all—just charge it, ride it, and go.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The white frame actually holds up better than I expected in terms of keeping a clean look. After a few rides it still looks sharp and new.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

After owning it for a while, the thing that stands out most is how often I choose to ride it. That's probably the best compliment I can give.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The Emma 4.0 has fit into my daily routine better than I expected. It doesn't feel like a gadget or a hobby—it just feels useful.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The Emma 4.0 has been getting more use than my car lately. For anything nearby, it's just easier, more enjoyable, and honestly a lot less stressful.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The best part about owning the Emma 4.0 isn't any single feature. It's that I genuinely enjoy using it, which means it never just sits in the garage collecting dust.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The step-through frame makes getting on and off really easy. Small detail, but I appreciate it every single day.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

One thing that really surprised me about the Emma 4.0 is how comfortable it is. Even after riding for 30–40 minutes, I don’t feel sore in my back or wrists like I usually do on other bikes. The seating position and suspension just make the ride feel natural. I’ve started taking longer rides just because it’s so easy on my body.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

Way more comfortable than I expected, even on longer rides.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

Highly recommend! Mine arrived in really good condition. The packaging was solid and it doesn’t feel cheap at all. Obviously, you’ll need to do some basic setup like with any e-bike, but nothing serious. Just sharing my experience!

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The throttle and pedal assist feel really natural on the Emma 4.0. It doesn’t feel jerky or weird, it just smoothly kicks in when you need it.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

I’ve taken the Emma 4.0 on some faster stretches of road, and it honestly feels really stable the whole time. No wobbling or sketchy feeling at all, which makes me feel a lot more confident riding it.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

So far the Emma 4.0 has been pretty low maintenance for me, which I really appreciate. I just ride it and don’t really have to think about anything else.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

The Emma 4.0 feels a lot smoother than I expected, especially on uneven roads around my area

Emma 4.0 Ebike

What I like most so far is how easy the Emma 4.0 is to handle. It doesn’t feel heavy or awkward, even when I’m riding through tighter streets or turning a lot.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

I’ve been using the Emma 4.0 for quick runs to the store and around my area, and it’s honestly just super convenient. Saves me a lot of time.

Emma 4.0 Ebike

I’ve had the Emma 4.0 for a little while now and so far it’s been super reliable. No complaints at all.
