Roll Road E-Bike Troubleshooting Guide
Before contacting support, try these quick fixes. Most common issues can be resolved in minutes!
Always power off your e-bike before inspecting components.
Refer to your Owner’s Manual for detailed diagrams and safety instructions.
1. Quick Diagnosis Tool (Top Issues)
The bike won’t turn on
- Check if the battery is fully inserted and locked.
- Press and hold the power button for 3+ seconds.
- Ensure the battery isn’t completely drained—try charging for 30+ minutes.
- Battery LED indicators: No lights? The battery may need replacement or service.
Motor not engaging / No pedal assist
- Confirm the display shows “PAS” mode (not “0” or “Walk Mode”).
- Make sure the brake levers aren’t stuck (some models cut motor when brakes are engaged).
- Check that the torque sensor connector (near crank) is secure.
- Restart the system: Turn off → Remove battery for 10 sec → Reinsert → Power on.
Battery drains too fast
- Reduce assist level (e.g., from Level 5 to Level 2).
- Ensure tires are inflated to recommended PSI (under-inflated = more resistance).
- Avoid frequent stop-and-go riding or steep hills on high assist.
- Cold weather (<10°C/50°F) reduces battery efficiency—store indoors when possible.
Unusual noises (clicking, grinding, squeaking)
- Chain noise: Lubricate chain + check tension.
- Brake rub: Align disc rotor or adjust caliper.
- Creaking from bottom bracket: May need tightening or bearing service.
- Suspension squeak: Clean stanchions; apply suspension-specific lube.
