Your safety is our top priority. Before riding your Roll Road e-bike, please read this entire safety guide carefully. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury, property damage, or voiding of your warranty.
Rider Requirements
- Minimum Age: You must be at least 16 years old to operate a Roll Road e-bike.
- Physical & Mental Fitness: Only ride if you are physically capable and mentally alert (not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication).
- Local Laws: E-bike regulations vary by region. Always comply with local speed limits, helmet laws, and where e-bikes are permitted.
Note: In many regions, e-bikes over 750W or 28 mph (45 km/h) may require licenses or be restricted.
Essential Safety Gear
Always wear the following when riding:
- ✅ Helmets – Certified (CPSC, CE, or equivalent). Replace after any impact.
- ✅ Closed-toe shoes – For secure pedal grip.
- ✅ Reflective clothing or lights – Especially in low-light conditions.
- ✅ Gloves – Improve grip and protect hands in a fall.
Night Riding: Your e-bike must have a front white light and rear red reflector/light visible from 500 feet (150 meters).
Pre-Ride Safety Checklist
Perform this check before every ride:
- ✓ Battery: Charged? Locked? No damage?
- ✓ Tires: Proper PSI? No cuts?
- ✓ Brakes: Firm levers? Strong stop?
- ✓ Lights & Display: Working?
- ✓ Bolts: Stem, seat, wheels tight?
- ✓ Chain: Lubricated? No rust?

Safe Riding Practices
✅ DO:
- Ride predictably and obey traffic signals.
- Use hand signals when turning.
- Keep both hands on handlebars.
- Reduce speed in wet or gravel conditions.
❌ DO NOT:
- Ride with headphones.
- Carry passengers (unless approved).
- Modify motor or battery.
- Ride off-road on urban models.
Battery Safety Guidelines
🔌 Charging
- Use only the original Roll Road charger.
- Charge in dry, ventilated areas—away from flammables.
- Never charge unattended overnight.
🌡️ Storage
- Store between 0°C–40°C (32°F–104°F).
- Avoid sun, heaters, or freezing temps.
- For long storage (>1 month), keep at ~50% charge.
Never: Puncture, immerse, or open the battery. If swollen—stop use immediately.
Children & Pets
- Keep e-bikes and chargers out of reach of children.
- Never allow children to play on or near the bike.
- Do not attach pet carriers unless explicitly approved by Roll Road.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Schedule a professional tune-up every 6 months or after 500 miles (800 km).
- Only use genuine Roll Road parts.
- Have electrical components serviced only by authorized technicians.
- After any crash—even minor—inspect frame, fork, and battery for hidden damage.
Emergency Response
- Stop riding immediately.
- Turn off the system and remove battery if safe.
- Move to a safe location away from traffic.
- Contact emergency services if injury or fire occurs.
